The client requested a 30m2 building that would incorporate both a family room and an office for the client to use to run his small business.  The garden had a significant slope and was also very narrow so we created a design that included a decked path to the side of the building leading to the office.

 

The room is 7.5 x 4m and finished to the exterior with western red cedar cladding.  The decking is charcoal composite and this is complemented by an attractive pergola with side screen to create a comfortable seating area for the family.  The interior is highly specified with air-conditioning in both rooms, a log burner with tiled surround, a small kitchenette and ethernet connections to the television and office space.  Deck lights, brushed steel outdoor power sockets, and up and down lights ensure that the building is attractive both day and night.
